Environmental Policy
|
While the laundry industry inherently recycles its product and does so in a more efficient and environmentally acceptable manner than smaller scale or domestic operations, County Linen Service is concerned about the future of the environment.
We are committed to taking responsibility for the environmental effects of its actions by facing the challenges of environmental management and preventing pollution.
County Linen Service will continue to comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulations and subscribe to the following code of practice:
Examine and monitor our processes and operations to ensure that due consideration to
environmental effects is being made throughout the company's membership
Set specific objectives and targets based upon continuous improvement which shall be
more environmentally acceptable than relevant minimum legislative requirements and
endeavour to meet them
Ascertain that our major and critical suppliers are aware of County Linen Services'
concern regarding the environment and that we are purchasing from suppliers whose
products' life cycles have the least detrimental affects including sourcing, manufacture,
transport and disposal
Carry out suitable staff training to ensure that the reason for and the mechanics of the
environmental policy are understood at all levels. Further, all staff should be encouraged
to pursue domestic environmental objectives of their own
Periodically task the Board to review the company's environmental policies, objectives
and targets to ensure compliance with this code of practice
